An exciting challenge for the new year in support of a great charity.

Our wonderful members Doug and Jodie Washington have a close connection with MND & Me as well as an adventurous spirit. We would love to show our support for this great charity with this scenic trek as our grand finale event.

If you're looking to start the year with a fitness goal or just wanting to explore, this is ideal. Please feel free to invite friends or family on to your teams. As well as the 3 training sessions there will be pop up adventures to take part in as well, all aimed at having fun and getting the heart pumping or to bring out your adventurous spirit.

Doug and Jodie have 3 fantastic "training" sessions planned in the months leading up to Flinders Peak.

1st Session:
Sunday 21st February - White Rock

2nd Session:

Saturday 10 April- Springbrook National Park

Third Session:
Sunday 9th May - Brisbane City River walk lunch at Howard Smith Wharves

All 4 walks are open to members with any fitness level. For Flinders Peak it is suggested that you would be comfortable at a reasonable pace for 10km with some hills thrown in. This is a guide you may like to use in your personal training sessions.

Flinders Peak can be completed in 5 hours 30 minutes (return walk) at a moderate pace. There will be some scrambling up and down rocks but this just adds to the adventure.

Not all training sessions have to be completed for you to participate at Flinders Peak. You may like to just fundraise and be confident with your fitness level to come along on the day.

What to bring:
- Walking poles which are foldable. When scrambling they can be a little awkward if you need to hold them.
- Comfortable walking or hiking shoes.
- Layers of clothing as it may be cool to start with but you will soon warm up.
- Drink bottle or ideally a water bladder - - Snacks or nibbles for example trail mix or peanut butter sandwich. As there are no toilets on the trek this may not be the best time to try something new if you get our drift

Lunch:
Lunch will be a BBQ and drinks.

More information will be posted so please keep an eye out in the events.
