My mate Murray is living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and a group of us have formed Mountains for Murray to raise funds for and awareness of MND.
Murray has a love for the mountains having ridden 2 Peaks Challenges in under 10hours and many many hours training in the mountains.
So on Sunday March 8th I am challenging myself to ride the 2020 Peaks Challenge and at the infamous WTF corner with 200km in my legs, 35km and about 1000 vertical meters remaining I will tow a Porsche tyre behind my bike up the back climb of Falls Creek to the finish line. I will have to endure the initial 9km climb with an average of 9% grade to Trapyard gap, then continue over Raspberry Hill, around the lake, across the wall, up the last pinch to the finish line, a total of 35km.
Why? because an extraordinary cause needs an extraordinary challenge and I am up for it!
Murray can’t ‘tap out’ from his MND and I won’t tap out either. It will be difficult and my legs, heart and lungs will burn like crazy but I hope such a challenge will inspire you to support me, Murray and MND & ME. Please donate, be part of the solution and find a cure for this horrible disease.
We have a stretch target of $100,000 but with your support we are confident we can get there.
Thanks to Bicycle Network for giving me permission to do this challenge and for sharing it with my fellow Peakers whom know the magnitude of what I am going to do.

My cycling buddy, Murray has recently been diagnosed with MND. Murray and I have been cycling together for years and am determined to contribute to finding a cure.
Like you, I am sure you can’t fathom how it would feel if your body let you down like this but Murray and his wife are Super Hero’s! They are passionate, motivated and inspiring us all to understand MND and join them to look for a solution.
