Madonna n Deborah (MnD) with Wayne Cooper are doing this trek to become part of the solution to ensure no-one has to face Motor Neurone Disease alone. We have lost family members to MND and now wish to make it easier for other families.

We know that the MND and Me Foundation does great work supporting both people with MND and their families while also funding critical research.

This is our chance to help them make a positive difference is the lives of people impacted by MND.

No donation is too small and any support you can provide is greatly appreciated.

What is Motor Neurone Disease?

You have nerves in your brain and spinal cord that control how your muscles work. These are called motor neurones. MND is a disease that affects the motor neurones. With MND, motor neurones gradually stop telling your muscles how to move. When muscles no longer move, they become weak, which can also lead to stiffness and loss of muscle mass (wasting). MND is a life-shortening illness that can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. This is usually different for each individual. You may not get all of the symptoms and there is no set order in which they happen. The disease will progress, which means symptoms will get worse over time. For some people this can be rapid, for others it is slower. There is currently no cure for MND.

20/01/2022 - Great start to the year with everyone ramping up their training and so close to reaching our target fund raising amount. Even better news is the Tassie restrictions have been lifted so it will be much easier getting into Tassie in February, cross fingers nothing changes.
If you are interested in doing a walk with us, reach out to either Wayne, Madonna or myself. We would love the company. Stay safe and stay well.

14/12/2021 - OMGoodness what great support for the MND Raffle held in November. Special BIG Thank You to everyone who purchased tickets. Madonna is holding a Christmas Raffle at TAE Bundamba tomorrow, Wayne has organised for donations made to the gift wrapping at Mt Ommaney to be donated plus the Valentines Day Raffle we are planning to hold just before we leave, hopefully taking us above what our minimum fund raising required. Our training is ramping up and we are getting excited!!!!

Madonna is rallying the lunch crowd today selling the last of the Fathers Day tickets for our first Raffle for the event being drawn after 12noon today.
