As most of my friends/ family would know, Mum has been diagnosed with MND. To watch my Mum go through this has been the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Losing her voice has been the worst. You dont understand or value how speaking and eating are so vital until it's taken away so quickly. MND and Me Foundation have helped us so much already, providing equipment & services and helping with this whole process and making life just that little bit easier.
It's estimated that 3,000 Australians are diagnosed with MND each year. MND affects your mobility, speech and eventually your ability to swallow and breathe. There is no effective treatment to slow the progression, with a life expectancy of approximately 2.5 years for most.
I'm using my silence to show people living with MND that they are not alone. Your donation will be invested into research to find a cure and in the meantime help Queenslanders living with MND.
