I'm doing this ride to become part of the solution to ensure that no one has to face Motor Neurone Disease alone. Those of us who witnessed Murray Geale's battle with MND was both heartbreaking and inspiring. In his honour and memory, we want to keep advancing this cause - both in supporting those diagnosed with MND & their families as well as the important research. I know that the MND and Me Foundation does great work supporting both people with MND and their families while also funding critical research. This is our chance to help them make a positive difference is the lives of people impacted by MND. No donation is too small and any support you can provide is greatly appreciated. Currently, about 300 Queenslanders are living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) which is a terminal disease with no effective treatment or cure. Every day in Australia, two people pass away from MND and another two are diagnosed. MND progressively stops your brain and spinal cord communicating messages to your body, taking away your ability to walk, talk, eat, swallow and eventually breathe. The MND and Me Foundation’s Mission is To Care and To Cure. We fund research into an effective treatment or cure but until that day arrives, we fund care services for Queenslanders living with MND as well as their family and care support network. The Foundation listens to the needs of people living with MND and we believe in securing their quality of life and maintaining their independence for as long as possible. We are keenly aware of the urgency of providing aid to our clients and we strive to provide the right solutions, at the right time, at no cost.
