In 2014 a group of Brisbane based mates decided to take on one of the hardest 1-day cycling events in the world – the Peaks Challenge in VIC. They trained hard all summer and developed a strong bond through the pain, sweat and exhaustion to be ready to ride 235km and climb 4,000m at Falls Creek.
In 2018 one of those mates was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and faced a new battle that changed his and his family’s life forever. MND also took away something he loved – riding with his mates.
In 2022 this group of mates will honour their friend and ride over 2,500kms from Brisbane to Falls Creek to ride Peaks Challenge again. This time they want to raise money to support MND and Me, a QLD based charity that supports MND patients and research.
Because a cure for MND is yet to be found.
Because there is no effective treatment for MND and it can strike anyone at any time.
